Description
Slitesterk Grease Stain Remover — for the stains nothing else shifts
Grease and oil stains are some of the most stubborn marks you can get on your shoes, and ordinary cleaners rarely touch them. The Slitesterk Grease Stain Remover is built for exactly this: a powerful yet safe cleaner that lifts oil, grease, sebum and even diesel stains from shoes, boots, bags and textiles — without damaging the material underneath.
What I like about it is how versatile it is. It works on smooth leather, suede, nubuck and fabric, so it’s a genuine all-rounder for the awkward stains that would otherwise mean writing off a good pair. Keep a bottle in the cupboard and you’ll be surprised how often it saves the day.
Why choose the Slitesterk grease stain remover?
- Tackles the toughest stains: removes grease, oil, sebum and diesel marks that everyday cleaners leave behind.
- Safe on the material: lifts stains without damaging leather, suede, nubuck or fabric.
- Truly multi-material: one product for shoes, boots, bags and textiles.
- Powerful but controlled: a little goes a long way, so you treat the stain without soaking the item.
- Handy 125ml size: easy to store and keep to hand for emergencies.
How to use the grease stain remover
- Gently brush or wipe away any loose dirt around the stain.
- Test on a small, hidden area first, especially on suede or nubuck.
- Apply the remover to the stain and let it work into the grease.
- Lift away the residue with a clean cloth, and repeat on stubborn marks. Finish suede and nubuck with a brush once dry.
Haico’s tip: treat grease stains as soon as you spot them. The fresher the mark, the more completely it lifts — old, set-in stains are always harder work.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use it on suede and nubuck? Yes, it’s suitable for suede and nubuck, but always test on a hidden area first and finish by brushing the nap back up once the area is dry.
Will it remove old, set-in stains? It gives the best results on fresh stains. Older, set-in marks may need more than one treatment and may not lift completely, but you’ll usually see a clear improvement.

Got a drop of fat on my brand-new shoe while cooking. I only noticed it later, so it had soaked in properly. With the Grease Stain Remover plus the cleaning brush I eventually got the stain out. Good stuff. (do have to polish the shoes again though…)

No idea what’s in it (acetone I think, that’s what it smells like, and I had to repaint my nails after using it 🙂 but it did remove the motor oil stain on my nubuck shoe that I couldn’t get out with any other product or eraser. I did have to use it twice and undiluted. And afterwards I had to clean the stain remover out of the shoe with a “normal” cleaner, because at first it made the stain bigger. But once it had dried, it was 90% gone. Pleased with the result!

It works, but depending on the stain you do need to treat it more than once.

It had leaked a little, the bottle wasn’t quite closed, I didn’t manage to get the stain out with it, but it’s not the end of the world
