Description

Saphir Juvacuir in Light Grey – a pigment-rich recolouring cream that brings faded and scratched smooth leather back to life.

If your favourite leather has lost its colour or picked up a few scuffs, Juvacuir is the product I reach for. It is a beeswax-and-pigment recolouring cream from Saphir, the French house founded in 1920, and it does far more than an ordinary polish. The thin, creamy formula sinks in to re-pigment the leather rather than just sitting on top, so light grey shoes, boots, bags, jackets and even furniture look rich and even again. Once it is dry it will not rub off on your hands or clothes, which is exactly what you want from a recolourant.

Saphir has been making leather care in France since 1920 and is trusted by cobblers and shoemakers the world over, so you are using the same quality the professionals reach for. Juvacuir is a wonderful way to get more years out of leather you love rather than replacing it, and a single 75 ml bottle goes a long way. Personally, it is one of the products I recommend most often to customers who think their favourite shoes or bag are past saving.

Why choose Saphir Juvacuir?

  • Restores faded colour – packed with pigments that revive tired, sun-bleached and worn leather.
  • Hides scuffs and scratches – blends away marks so your leather looks cared for rather than tired.
  • Covers large areas with ease – the liquid cream is ideal for bags, jackets, sofas and car seats as well as shoes and boots.
  • Stays put – once dry it will not transfer onto your hands, socks or clothing.
  • Light Grey that matches – light grey is ideal for reviving grey leather shoes, trainers and bags, and for freshening pale grey furniture.
  • Great value – one 75 ml bottle treats several pairs of shoes or a large bag, so it works out far cheaper than replacing your leather.

How to use Saphir Juvacuir

Getting an even, natural finish is straightforward – take your time and build it up gently:

  • Give the leather a good brush and, if needed, a clean so the surface is dry and free of dust.
  • Shake the bottle of Juvacuir well before you start.
  • Apply a thin, even layer with a soft cloth – less is more, so build up rather than overload.
  • Leave it to dry for around 15 minutes.
  • Buff with a clean, soft cloth to bring up an even finish; add a second thin coat if you want deeper colour.

I always recommend testing on a hidden area first, and finishing shoes with a matching wax polish for extra shine and protection.

Frequently asked questions

Will Juvacuir rub off once it is dry?
No. Juvacuir is designed to re-pigment the leather and, once it has dried and been buffed, it will not transfer onto your hands, socks or clothing.

Can I use it on handbags and jackets as well as shoes?
Absolutely. The liquid cream formula is especially good on larger surfaces such as bags, jackets, sofas and car interiors, as well as shoes and boots. It is not suitable for suede or nubuck, though.

Is it the same as an ordinary shoe polish?
Not quite. A wax polish mainly shines and protects, whereas Juvacuir carries far more pigment to actually re-colour the leather. Many people use Juvacuir first to restore the colour, then a matching wax polish on top for shine and protection.

Where can I buy Saphir Juvacuir in light grey in the UK?
You can order it directly from Shoespecialist.co.uk. We offer free UK delivery on orders over £50, same-day dispatch when you order before 5pm, and a 60-day return policy, so you can buy with complete peace of mind.

1 review for Saphir Juvacuir Leather Recolouring Cream 75ml – 14 Light Grey

  1. Floor (verified owner) –

Bought to freshen up old shoes, but it’s a very opaque product, so the colour of my shoes has just changed (not nice) and it leaves streaks. More opaque than the regular dye
