How to use Saphir Canadian

- Squeeze a small amount of cream onto a thick cotton cloth. Start with less than you think you need; the pigment level is high.
- Work it into the leather in small circles, one panel at a time, so you can see the coverage evening out as you go.
- Pay extra attention to the areas that always fade first: elbows, cuffs, collar, bag corners and the base of the handles.
- Let it dry, then buff thoroughly with a clean cloth until nothing transfers. That final buff is what stops any colour marking your clothes.

Can I use this on a leather jacket rather than shoes?
That is exactly what it is designed for. Canadian was built for thick garment leather, which needs far more wax than a shoe upper. Work panel by panel, use less cream than you expect to, and buff each panel before moving on.
Will it rub off on my clothes?
Not once it is properly buffed. Because the pigment load is high you do need to finish the job — keep buffing with a clean cloth until nothing transfers, and check the collar and cuffs twice.
Does it really make the leather water-repellent?
Yes, thanks to the beeswax. Rain will bead and run off treated leather for a good while. In heavy, sustained rain I would still add a waterproofing spray, but for showers the cream alone is enough.
