Cognac Waxed Round Shoelaces 100 cm – Shoespecialist – water-resistant waxed round laces for smart shoes
Looking for cognac waxed shoelaces that stay tied and shrug off a rain shower? These cognac waxed round shoelaces are round and lightly waxed, so they resist moisture and stay tied, cut to 100 cm and, as always, supplied as a pair. They are from our own Shoespecialist range, and I chose them because a lightly waxed lace simply behaves better on a smart shoe.
They are ideal for dress shoes, Oxfords, brogues and Derbies. Swapping worn or broken laces is the quickest, cheapest way to make a favourite pair of shoes feel new again, and getting the right length and shape matters just as much as the colour.
Cognac is a warm, reddish-brown shade that looks wonderful against quality tan and brown leather. It is my pick when you want a lace that feels a touch more premium than a plain brown.
Why choose these cognac waxed round shoelaces?
- Water-resistant wax finish: the light wax coating helps the laces resist moisture and dirt, so they stay looking smart for longer.
- They stay tied: waxed round laces grip themselves neatly, which means fewer trailing laces and fewer mid-day re-tying stops.
- Made for smart shoes: the round profile slides cleanly through the eyelets of dress shoes, Oxfords, brogues and Derbies.
- Sold as a pair: you receive two laces, ready to fit straight away – no guessing whether you have ordered enough.
- Great value: a new pair of laces costs a fraction of new shoes and takes minutes to fit.
- Free UK delivery from £50: add these to your care order and post them out together, with same-day dispatch when you order before 5pm.
How to choose and fit your laces
Getting the length right is the bit most people get wrong, so here is how I talk customers through it in the shop.
- Count your eyelets. Count the pairs of holes on one shoe. As a rough guide, 100 cm suits shoes with around 6–7 pairs of eyelets.
- Remove the old laces. Unthread the worn pair and keep one as a length reference if you are unsure.
- Thread from the bottom. Start at the eyelets nearest the toe and work up, keeping both ends even as you go.
- Even them up. Pull the laces so the two ends are the same length before you tie, so nothing trails.
- Tie and check. Tie as normal; if the ends are very long, size down next time, and if the bow feels tight, size up.

Frequently asked questions
What length of cognac waxed shoelaces do I need?
Count the pairs of eyelets on your shoe. This 100 cm pair suits shoes with about 6–7 pairs of eyelets. If you are between sizes, it is usually safer to go slightly longer.
Will the wax rub off on my shoes?
No. The wax is worked into the lace rather than sitting on the surface, so it helps repel water and dirt without marking your shoes or your hands.
How many laces come in a pack?
You receive a pair, which is two laces – enough for one pair of shoes. If you like to keep a spare set in the cupboard, it is well worth ordering two.
Where can I buy cognac waxed shoelaces in the UK?
You can order cognac waxed shoelaces directly from Shoespecialist.co.uk. We offer free delivery on orders over £50, same-day dispatch when you order before 5pm, and a 60-day return policy.
