How to use Rapide Wax Spray
- Clean the item first and remove any dirt — the spray works best on a clean surface. It can be applied to dry or slightly damp material.
- Shake the can well.
- Spray evenly from around 10–15cm away, covering the whole surface, including seams.
- Wipe over with a clean cloth to spread the wax evenly and reduce any runs.
- Allow to dry for around 24 hours before wearing for the best water repellency. Reproof at least once a year, or more often with heavy use.
Haico’s tip: pay special attention to the seams, stitching and creases — that is where water finds its way in first. A second light coat over these areas gives you the most reliable protection when the weather turns.
Good to know: waxed materials have a proud British heritage — think classic country jackets and rugged work boots — and they are built to be re-waxed rather than replaced. The wax finish is a sacrificial layer that slowly wears and washes away, which is completely normal; reproofing simply tops it back up.
