Kaps Pink Suede Renovator Spray 160 – 200ml Colour and Waterproofing – colour back in the nap and rain off the surface, in one can
Pink suede is wonderful for one season and then it starts to let you down. The toes go pale, the sides pick up a bloom of dust, and what was a confident pink slowly drifts towards a tired, chalky rose. Because pink has so little depth to lose, it looks worn out long before the shoe itself is worn out. A pink suede renovator spray fixes that in about two minutes.
Kaps make this in Poland and the can does two jobs at once. The pigment settles evenly into the nap to restore a consistent shade, and the impregnating agents rebuild the water and dirt repellency that new suede has and older suede has lost. What it does not do is seal the surface: the finish leaves the leather breathing, which matters if your boots have a membrane or you simply wear them all day.
The reason I always steer people towards an aerosol rather than a bottle on pale suede is simple. A liquid you brush on leaves brush marks, and pink shows every single one. A fine mist lands evenly across the nap and dries without a tide line, so you get one shade from the toe to the heel.
Why choose the Kaps Pink Renovator Spray?
What an aerosol renovator does better than a bottle and a brush.
- Even colour, no patches. The aerosol lays the pigment down as a fine mist, which is far kinder to a napped surface than anything brushed on. On a pale pink that difference is very visible.
- Waterproofing built in. The same coat that restores the shade also renews the water and dirt repellency, so puddles bead on the surface instead of soaking straight into the nap.
- Stays breathable. The finish does not block the pores of the leather, so a membrane-lined boot carries on working exactly as it was designed to.
- Works on textile too. Canvas trainers and fabric uppers take the colour as readily as suede and nubuck, which is handy on a mixed-material pair.
- A generous 200ml can. Enough for several treatments on a pair of boots, and the shade stays consistent from the first spray to the last.
How to use the Kaps Pink Renovator Spray
Two light passes always beat one heavy one. Blotches come from impatience, not from the can.
- Brush the whole shoe with a suede brush or crepe block to lift the nap and take off surface dirt. Grit left behind will show through the colour.
- Mask the soles, the rands and any smooth leather trim with low-tack tape, and work outdoors or in a well-ventilated room.
- Shake the can hard for around thirty seconds so the pigment is properly mixed through the propellant.
- Test on a hidden area first, such as the inside of the heel or under the tongue, and judge the shade once it has dried rather than while it is wet.
- Spray in even sweeps from roughly 20cm away, keeping the can moving. Cover the whole shoe rather than only the faded patches.
- Let the shoes dry naturally for around thirty minutes, then brush the nap up again. Add a second light coat if the colour needs more depth.
My tip from behind the counter
Do both shoes in one session, even when only one looks faded. Suede takes colour according to how worn the nap already is, so a can used today and again in three months will never give you a perfectly matched pair. Ten extra seconds of spraying now saves an obvious mismatch later, and there is plenty in a 200ml can to do the job properly.

Frequently asked questions
Will it match my exact shade of pink?
It will get you very close on most pale and mid pinks, because the pigment sits in the nap rather than coating it. Fuchsia and hot pink suede are a different matter. Always test on the inside of the heel and judge it dry, since suede looks considerably darker while it is damp.
Can I make faded pink suede darker or brighter?
You can deepen and refresh what is already there, and you can go darker. What no renovator can do is lighten suede, so a pink that has gone grubby grey will come back as a slightly deeper pink rather than a brand-new pale one. Clean it first and you will be surprised how much comes back.
Does it stop the suede getting wet again?
It renews the water repellency, so light rain and splashes bead on the surface and can be brushed off once dry. It is not a wellington boot. In sustained rain, suede will still wet through eventually, so top the spray up every eight to ten wears.

Fine (seems a bit duller after spraying a lot of colour on the shoe, so the look is a little less nice then).
