Description

Dasco Shoe Cream — Cognac, 50ml — a nourishing rich reddish-brown wax shoe cream that feeds, protects and refreshes cognac and tan smooth leather.

Dasco has been making shoe and leather care in Britain since 1950, and this shoe cream is a proper traditional formula — top-quality waxes, including natural beeswax, blended with a high level of colour pigment. In Cognac it does three jobs at once: it feeds smooth leather to keep it soft and supple, protects it against drying and cracking, and refreshes faded, scuffed and worn areas so your shoes look cared-for again. It comes in the classic 50ml glass jar and, used little and often, one jar lasts a very long time.

It suits cognac, tan and warm reddish-brown leather shoes, boots and brogues in cognac and similar tones. A quick feed and buff every few weeks keeps the colour looking rich and even, stops smooth leather drying out between full cleans, and means a good pair stays comfortable and handsome for years rather than months.

Why choose Dasco Shoe Cream in Cognac?

  • Nourishes and feeds the leather. Rich waxes and oils keep smooth leather soft, supple and less likely to dry out or crack over time.
  • Refreshes rich cognac tones. A high level of pigment revives faded and scuffed leather, restoring an even, cared-for cognac colour.
  • Brings up a fine, lasting shine. A quick buff after it has soaked in leaves a deep, even, well-cared-for finish.
  • Helps protect against the elements. The wax content adds a layer of protection against everyday moisture and grime.
  • Classic 50ml glass jar. A little goes a long way, so a single jar keeps a favourite pair looking their best for a long time.

How to use Dasco Shoe Cream

  1. Brush off any loose dirt and dust first, and let damp shoes dry naturally.
  2. Scoop a small amount onto a soft cloth or applicator brush.
  3. Work it into the leather in small circles, covering the whole shoe evenly — pay a little extra attention to scuffed or faded areas.
  4. Leave it for a few minutes so the cream can soak in and nourish the leather.
  5. Buff with a clean, soft brush or cloth until you bring up an even shine.
  6. Build up gradually with a second light layer if you want deeper colour or a higher shine.

A little tip from the shop: a little cream goes a long way. I always work it in with a soft cloth in small circles, leave it a few minutes to sink in, then buff with a clean brush — that is what brings up the deep, even shine. Keeping on top of it with a light feed every few weeks does far more for the life of a good pair of shoes than an occasional heavy going-over.

Frequently asked questions

What sort of shade is Cognac?
It is a rich, warm reddish-brown with a hint of brandy warmth – a classic dress-shoe brown that flatters cognac and tan leather. As shades vary, test a hidden area first if you are matching an exact colour.

What if I am not sure it will match my shoes?
If you are unsure of the exact shade, our Neutral cream feeds and shines without adding colour. For colour matching, always test a small hidden area first.
