Description
Bama Wool – Sheepskin Wool Insoles for Warm Feet
There’s nothing worse than cold feet the moment you step outside in winter, and I speak from experience when I say wool is one of the best natural materials for solving that problem. The Bama Wool insole is made from real sheepskin wool and is part of Bama’s dedicated Warm series, designed specifically to keep your feet insulated in light to severe cold. It’s a proper winter classic in our shop – simple, natural and it genuinely works.
The wool fibres trap a layer of warm air close to your foot, which is exactly how wool keeps sheep warm out on the hillside, and exactly how it keeps you warm inside your shoes or boots. Unlike some synthetic thermal insoles, wool is also naturally breathable, so your feet stay warm without getting damp and clammy.
Why choose Bama Wool insoles?
- Natural insulation – real sheepskin wool traps warm air around your foot, keeping the cold out even on the harshest days.
- Breathable comfort – wool regulates moisture naturally, so your feet stay warm without sweating the way they can with synthetic materials.
- Soft against the skin – the wool upper feels genuinely gentle and cosy, not scratchy or stiff.
- Naturally odour-resistant – wool has natural antibacterial properties that help keep shoes fresher for longer.
- Versatile fit – works well in boots, wellingtons, walking shoes and everyday winter footwear.
How to use Bama Wool insoles
- Remove your existing insole if there’s one in the shoe already, to leave enough room for the wool insole.
- Check the size marked on the insole against your shoe size and trim along the guideline if a more precise fit is needed.
- Place the insole into the shoe with the wool side facing upwards, towards your foot.
- Press down gently to make sure it sits flat against the base of the shoe.
- Wear as normal, and let the wool do the work of keeping your feet warm throughout the day.

Frequently asked questions
Can I wash wool insoles?
Yes, you can hand wash them in lukewarm water with a wool-friendly soap. Let them air dry fully before putting them back in your shoes.
Will they make my shoes feel too tight?
Wool insoles have a small amount of natural thickness, so if your shoes already fit snugly, it’s worth removing the original insole first, as most people do, rather than layering the wool insole on top.
Are they suitable for sensitive skin?
Wool is a natural fibre and generally well tolerated, but if you know you’re sensitive to wool against bare skin, wearing a thin sock underneath solves this easily.
Do they work in wellingtons as well as boots?
Yes, they’re a popular choice for wellingtons and rain boots too, since these have little natural insulation of their own and benefit enormously from a warm wool layer underfoot.
Where can I buy Bama Wool insoles in the UK?
You can order them directly from Shoespecialist.co.uk. We offer free delivery on orders over £50, same-day dispatch when you order before 5pm, and a 60-day return policy.
