Description

Bama Alutherm Airtech – thermal insoles that keep the cold out

There is nothing worse than cold feet on a frosty morning, and once the chill sets in through the soles it is hard to shake. Bama Alutherm Airtech thermal insoles are built to stop that happening. A clever aluminium layer works like a two-way mirror, reflecting the cold rising from the ground while holding your own body heat close to your feet.

Combined with a cushioning foam layer, they deliver genuine warmth for anything from a nippy commute to extreme winter cold. They are a favourite of mine every winter, and they slip neatly into boots, work shoes and everyday footwear.

Most of the cold you feel comes straight up through the sole of your shoe from the frozen ground beneath. Put a reflective barrier between your foot and that cold, and you stay noticeably warmer – no bulky socks or fuss required. It is a simple bit of clever design that makes winter dog walks, chilly commutes and long days working outdoors genuinely more comfortable, and it costs a fraction of a new pair of winter boots.

Why choose Bama Alutherm Airtech insoles?

  • Reflective aluminium layer. Bounces the cold back down and keeps your natural warmth where it belongs – around your feet.
  • Built for serious cold. Designed for light through to extreme cold, so they earn their keep on the coldest days of the year.
  • Cushioned comfort. A soft foam layer adds a welcome bit of padding underfoot as well as insulation.
  • Breathable “Airtech” design. Helps manage moisture so your feet stay warm without feeling stuffy.
  • Trim-to-fit. Easy size guides let you tailor them to boots, wellies, work shoes and winter trainers.

How to use Bama Alutherm Airtech insoles

  1. Pick the size closest to your shoe size from the range available.
  2. Use your existing insole as a template and trim along the printed guide lines if needed.
  3. Take out any loose insole already in the shoe.
  4. Insert the Alutherm insole with the aluminium (silver) side facing down towards the sole.
  5. Press it flat into the heel and you are ready for the cold.

Haico’s tip: pair these with a good pair of wool-blend socks for the coldest days, and make sure there is still a little wiggle room for your toes – feet that are squeezed too tightly actually feel the cold more.

Frequently asked questions

How does the aluminium keep my feet warm?
The aluminium layer reflects the cold coming up from the ground and reflects your body heat back towards your feet, so less warmth is lost through the soles.

Which way up do they go?
Aluminium (silver) side down towards the sole, soft side up under your foot.

Will they fit chunky winter boots?
Yes – choose the nearest size and trim to fit. They work well in boots, wellies and everyday winter shoes.

Can I use them all winter and into spring?
Absolutely. They are ideal from the first cold snap right through the coldest months of the year. When warmer weather returns, simply swap them for a breathable or moisture-absorbing insole to keep your feet comfortable all year round.
